About the artwork

The Common Waxbill is a small finch recognized by its grey head, red beak, fine barring on the body, and bright red rump. It is usually seen in grasslands, wetlands, and open fields, often perched quietly on twigs or wires. This bird feeds mainly on grass seeds and small insects. Originally native to Africa, it is now established in parts of India as an introduced species and is often spotted in small flocks.
