About the artwork

The photograph uses a high vantage and a second roof edge at the top right to bracket the scene, a framing move that steadies the eye before the main structure comes fully into view. Its palette stays restrained, with weathered red timber, dark brown roof tiles, pale stone, and a wide wash of blue gray cloud. Small patches of green trees soften the masonry and keep the architecture from feeling dry. The main gate sits near the center with enough open sky above it, while the railing in front and the city behind create depth across three clear layers, and the Photograph title suits the directness of the image. People appear as small moving accents around the base, but the subject is the gate itself, with its curved roof, stacked beams, and heavy stone details. So the image reads as architecture first and street activity second. The surface is crisp and smooth, with straight lines held firmly despite the elevated angle, and the light stays even enough to preserve detail in the roof, posts, and distant buildings. Hang it where a medium to large wall gives the roofline room to breathe above nearby furniture.

Parth Sable

I’m Parth Sable, an architect based between Dapoli and Pune, Maharashtra. My love for photography comes from my curiosity to observe and capture the world around me. I enjoy photographing landscapes, architecture, and wildlife, with a focus on light, composition, textures, and the character of a place. Living close to the Konkan landscape constantly inspires me to explore, travel, and capture fleeting moments through my lens.
