About the artwork

The peacock feather panel tends to catch the eye just after the bright sun faces at the corners. Across the surface, small motifs shift from celestial signs and floral rosettes to birds, a fish, an elephant, a tiger, and simple dancing figures, so the subject reads as a sampler of folk symbols instead of one single scene. Color does much of the work here. Mustard yellow, teal, indigo, orange, maroon, black, and dusty pink sit in neighboring squares with hard edges between them, and the contrast keeps each icon distinct even where the drawing is fine and compact. The handmade Lippan wall art title fits what the surface suggests, because the white borders and motif lines appear slightly raised against the flat painted grounds. Some panels look smoother than others, while the relief detailing catches light in a thin chalky line along the edges. And the strict grid makes placement easy in entryways, living rooms, and long hall walls where a single centered image might feel too quiet. This surface looks matte and lightly textured.
