About the artwork

Soft greys and pale silver tones keep the light in a room even, with no hard color jump or sharp contrast. The subject is Ganesha, seated cross legged with four arms, a lotus raised in one hand and a long string instrument held across the body. The figure sits squarely in the center, filling most of the picture plane, so the image reads as an icon first and a background scene hardly at all. Fine contour lines shape the crown, jewelry, bangles, and textile borders, while gentle shading rounds the trunk, knees, and arms into a solid form that still feels light on the wall. And the surface looks smooth and matte, with soft tonal transitions instead of thick brush build up, which lets the carved outline of the instrument and the bead like ornaments stay crisp. Divine Harmony stays almost entirely within grey, ash, and off white, so shadows feel cool and quiet, and the pale background gives the elephant headed face, the raised lotus, and the broad instrument body their full hold on the eye.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Vikrant Karyakarte

Vikrant Karyakarte

I am Vikrant P. Karyakarte, a professional artist with over 14 years of experience. Painting has been my passion since childhood and my chosen profession. For me, painting is not just applying colour on canvas; it is a way to express what I see, feel, and think. I work across subjects and styles, especially nature, animals, vehicles, and Lord Ganesha. I have also created historical series on Shivcharitra, the Goa Inquisition, and Aryabhatta. My works have been exhibited in India and abroad.
