The Setting Sun | Serene Landscape Painting

Large enough in visual impact for a statement wall, this Krishna Playing Flute work sits best where its dense detail can be seen from a few steps away, especially in a pooja room or a formal living area with plain surrounding surfaces. The subject is a frontal image of Krishna holding a flute, crowned with peacock feathers and heavy ornament, with a smaller decorated figure set beside him and a circular ceremonial form at the lower left. The figure occupies the center almost completely. And the eye stays there because the gold-toned arch and jeweled border press inward from every side, making the blue background read like a bright field behind the deity. The technique appears consistent with Tanjore painting, with raised decorative work, reflective gold-toned areas, and inset stone-like accents that catch light unevenly across the surface, so the piece would show small glints and tiny shadow edges when seen at an angle in ordinary room light. Color does much of the work too, since the electric blue ground pushes forward against orange, green, pink, and deep indigo garments while the metallic border ties the whole image into a single dense frame. But it is wrong for a small room already full of pattern, dark wall colors, or spare minimalist furniture that would fight its ceremonial weight.

Painting is my passion. Painting fills me with energy while at the same it relaxes and soothes me. Initially I learnt it as a hobby but I found it so interesting that I kept on learning new & different techniques of different cultures. Soon I started decorating my house with my paintings. I prefer painting God, Goddesses and Nature as I believe there is a divine power all around us and I want to see this power in a tangible form.
