About the artwork

Two hummingbirds face each other on a diagonal branch, with one bird hovering and the other perched above it. The image uses wildlife photography with a shallow focus plane and a fast shutter, so the birds stay crisp while the green background falls into a soft blur. Blue, green, violet, and pale brown move across the feathers and wings, and the branch carries small pale tufts that keep the color from floating without support. The subject is a tight bird study built around long beaks, spread tails, and lifted wings, while the title Dance Of The Violetears points to the exchange between the pair and gives the scene a quick, confrontational rhythm. And the open background leaves a clean field around the action, which helps the central forms read from a distance even though the wing details are fine and lightly striped. Use it on an accent wall with enough empty space around the frame.

I am a professional wildlife photographer with a passion for documenting the wonders that we share the planet with. I have travelled around the globe, explored various habitats (polar, mountains, savannahs, rainforests, islands, deserts and more), and photographed a wide variety of wildlife ranging from birds to mammals to reptiles to insects to crabs to plants to fungi. I believe that each photograph tells a story. And many of these stories are sadly vanishing from the planet that we call home.
